Cassandra
Cassandra
Part of a collection of puzzles inspired by a local exhibition of Evelyn De Morgan works.
Originally painted in 1898, Cassandra depicts the title figure tearing at her hair in frustration as Troy burns in the background, sacked by the Greeks, after the Trojans failed to heed her prophesies.
Staying true to the medium of the original, I've printed this copy on high quality canvas before adhering to 6mm baltic birch plywood. This piece is cut in a flowing long-foot-and-curl style and acts as a nice companion piece to the more expressionistic cutting of Helen of Troy.
The completed puzzle measures 4-1/4 x 8-7/8 inches and is comprised of 81 pieces.
As a limited edition of 1/1, this image will never be recycled by the workshops of Turning Taxis Plywood Puzzles.
By default this puzzle ships boxed and disassembled, but can alternatively be ordered pre-assembled in a double sided float frame for an added fee: Click here to add a frame
