Night and Sleep
Night and Sleep
Part of a collection of puzzles inspired by a local exhibition of Evelyn De Morgan works.
Originally painted in 1878, this work depicts the personification of Night floating through the evening sky, enrobed in red reminiscent of sunset, a billowing cloak darkening the sky behind. At his arm lies Sleep, gently scattering poppies onto the earth below.
Staying true to the medium of the original, I've printed this copy on high quality canvas before adhering to 6mm baltic birch plywood. This piece is cut in squat knobbed style, facilitating a higher piece density.
The completed puzzle measures 8-5/8 x 5-7/8 inches and is comprised of 199 pieces.
As a limited edition of 1/1, this image will never be recycled by the workshops of Turning Taxis Plywood Puzzles.
