Part of a collection of puzzles inspired by a local exhibition of Evelyn De Morgan works.

Originally painted in 1880, this work depicts the Angel of Death as a beautiful and benign figure, gently comforting a frail female figure, symbolic of De Morgan's spiritualist belief that, as a natural counterpart to life, death is to be welcomed and not feared.

Staying true to the medium of the original, I've printed this copy on high quality canvas before adhering to 6mm baltic birch plywood. This piece is cut in squat knobbed style with color line cutting separating the two subject figures from the background.

The completed puzzle measures 7 x 9-1/4 inches and is comprised of 267 pieces.

As a limited edition of 1/1, this image will never be recycled by the workshops of Turning Taxis Plywood Puzzles.

By default this puzzle ships boxed and disassembled, but can alternatively be ordered pre-assembled in a double sided float frame for an added fee: Click here to add a frame
